What generous people!!
I have been reading recently about 2 open air medical clinics where people could go to get medical, dental, and eye treatment. One was in Kentucky and the other in Los Angeles. Thousands of people who needed treatment were provided with the needed treatment; no questions asked, no payment required. I can only imagine all the background work that must have gone into organizing these events. God bless them--all the doctors, nurses, dentists, optometrists--healing the sick, relieving pain, helping people see--Jesus work done by people here on earth. What generosity!! Makes me so proud of my fellow Americans. Kindness, gentleness, and generosity--we need more of them.

I completely agree. But for another opinion, check out Morrison's blog at All DOORS CONSIDERED. Naturally I could not resist responding to her!
You know what Grace, I did NOT for one micro second say a god dam negative thing about the volunteers nor the recipients. Why don't people learn to read?
I was talking about Katie Couric and CBS Evening News using a volunteer medical organization as a means of promoting Obama Care. One thing had nothing to do with the other.
As if????
The volunteers have been providing eye and dental care since 1985. ObamaCare will not be providing eye and dental care under his new program and neither does Medicare or Medicaid. Under Medicare an elderly person can only get one pair of eyeglasses for the rest of their life after cataract surgery.
I was making the point, or at least TRYING to make the point that the liberal left media was slantily using the RMA (volunteers) disingenuosly in order to falsely promote Obama's agenda.
THAT'S IT!!!!
BTW: my brother, an eye surgeon and myself, an optician are seriously thinking of sending in our applications to RMA and volunteering. Most insurance companies have either discontinued or eliminated this type of coverage. (mine included)nd yes it is sorely needed but Obama ain't gonna be helping anybody as far as dental and eye care.
Give me a break!!!!
Morrison-All Door Considered.
I live in an area with television reception and we have chosen not to have satellite reception either--so no television news. I read about these clinics in the Washington Post and NYT. But in an effort to see what all the fuss was about I watched the CBS Evening News segment on-line. As with the newspaper articles, I thought the story imminently newsworthy and presented in a non-polical manner. When thousands of people stand in line for days to get needed medical attention, it is a story that is bound to be covered. It is absurd to say that the story should not be aired because it shows our current health care system in a bad light which might influence people to support a change the system.
P.S. My blog will not become a forum for rants from the the far left or the far right. Rant on your own blogs.
Florence,
You are right. I am sorry. Please accept my apology.
Well said, Florence!
Thanks for understanding; we're all a bit frazzled by the economy and all the implications of healthcare reform.
