May Meditation

Anything you cannot relinquish when it has outlived its usefulness, possesses you.  And in this materialistic age, a great many of us are possessed by our possessions.

Peace Pilgrim

So true. Have you read (or read about) that popular book where the lady advocates getting rid of everything that doesn't bring you joy? I told this to my husband and he walked straight over to the file cabinet and took out the file that said "Taxes" ;>)!! (I think you do have to keep some things that don't make you turn cartwheels.) But I get what she is saying (and what your meditation says even more elegantly.)

Yes, I have read Marie Kondo's book. I liked it but I'm not quite so extreme. I like things uncluttered and orderly so I can easily find things.
