September Poetry

"Under the harvest moon,
When the soft silver
Drips shimmering
Over the garden nights,
Death, the gray mocker,
Comes and whispers to you
As a beautiful friend
Who remembers."
-  Carl Sandburg, Under the Harvest Moon

oh my! i only remember Carl Sandburg as the author of "Rutabaga Tales" a book my dad loved to read aloud to us. Maybe I'm wrong , i need to look that up. This poem definitely is different from that. I guess he wrote for all ages.
