It has only been a few weeks since I started reading Standing in the Light, only to realize that I had already read it. Since I purchased it for my Kindle, I must have either read a library copy or maybe there's a paperback somewhere around the house. OTOH, the good news is that at least I remembered reading it!!Florencehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01157294752967287405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1163688800708532843.post-85273699627867296312017-03-31T13:44:16.094-07:002017-03-31T13:44:16.094-07:00I visited this post yesterday and it sent me on th...I visited this post yesterday and it sent me on the oddest journey (here on my desktop).... I thought Maude' sounded like a great book, so I went to Amazon -- good price -- I hit buy now and Amazon told me "you already purchased this book you dope" (they didn't really say those last two words) ... I still couldn't remember the book, so off I went to my archives, only to find that my new-ish Paperwhite Kindle doesn't even have Archives listed on the table of contents. So then back to the Amazon website, found my list of purchased books and downloaded Maude' again.... still can't get it on my Paperwhite, but found it on my Kindle Fire and now I'm re-reading it again there. Yikes!

But it's a great book and as soon as I got the childbirth (the first one, her sister's) I started to remember the book perfectly ... but I'm still re-reading it all. As you point out, it is a great reminder of how good we do have it these days. A thing I need to be reminded of once in a while.

It's kind of embarrassing to admit that I didn't recognize the book but I didn't think you'd make too much fun of me if I confessed. Reading on Kindle I usually don't even see the Cover of a book -- if I had, I think I would have remembered this one.

Sallie (FullTime-Life)https://www.blogger.com/profile/15442598857394838271noreply@blogger.com
